Extensions

Some good news coming out from the Utah Jazz this week. First, GM Kevin O'Connor signed a multi year extension to stay with the Jazz. O'Connor has been with the Jazz for the past twelve years. He has been praised this off season for turning around what could have been a disastrous summer into a summer of hope that this team can contend next season.

Other good news, coach Jerry Sloan has said he will return next season to his seat on the bench. This will be Sloan's 23rd season, making him the longest tenured coach in American major sports. Sloan brings toughness to the Jazz that trickles down to the players on the floor.

  1. 23 years is just crazy long for any job in this day and age. It is such a remarkable accomplishment and says a lot about the organization and the man.

  2. stability in sports is no different than stability in one's everyday life. that is a tribute to coach Sloan as well as the Jazz organization for sticking with him
